PhD student at the Doctoral School of Medical Sciences and Health Sciences at the Jagiellonian University Medical College.
She worked as Early Stage Researcher in the CARTHAGO project (2021-2024), funded by Horizon 2020 Marie Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN) under the supervision of Prof. Marcin Waligora. She works on ethical challenges of gene transfer and regenerative medicine using ethics parallel research framework.
Paola Buedo is from Bahia Blanca, Argentina. She earned a Master’s Degree in Bioethics (Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales, 2019), she is also a Medical Doctor (Universidad Nacional del Sur, 2012).
In 2018, Paola was a trainee of the Ethics of Research Programme of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH). She obtained the Bioethics Award 2018 from the Jaime Roca Foundation. Paola was called as an international consultant in bioethics by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) in 2015. She also obtained two individual research scholarships (awarded by the Buenos Aires Scientific Research Commission and by the National Health Research Commission, Argentina).
