Katarzyna Klaś – laureate of the START programme of the Foundation for Polish Science

We are pleased to announce that Katarzyna Klaś, a PhD student at the Department of Bioethics, has been awarded a scholarship in the START programme of the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP START).

FNP START is the oldest scholarship programme in Poland for the most promising young researchers across all fields of science. Its aim is to support outstanding young scientists and encourage them to pursue further academic development.

This year, 725 applications were submitted. The START laureates were selected through a multi-stage competition that assessed the quality of their scientific achievements to date. Thirty-two percent of all awardees already hold a doctoral degree. In Poland, the average age for obtaining a PhD is approximately 35.
